Chapter 12

Becky remembered her dreams from the night before, after she woke up. Her dreams were filled with romantic love scenes featuring Cade and herself. She was surprised she was able to sleep at all after Cade made love to her, but she knew she could thank the long bath she took after he left and the satisfaction her body felt from Cade’s love making.

She found it hard to get going this morning, partly due to her desire to crawl back into bed and finish her dream, but she told herself that she had a long week ahead of her and she must get downstairs shortly.

Becky used her key and after unlocking and re-locking the bakery’s back door, she looked for Cade and found him in his small office. She walked up behind him and wrapped her silky arms around his neck and leaned over and kissed him under his ear.

Smiling, Cade got up and grabbed Becky around the waist and tugged her to him. He kissed her with a kiss that she wanted to never end. It started with his lips covering hers, but quickly changed to something deeper. Cade’s tongue explored her mouth with such finesse that she almost drew him down to the floor for more physical exploring. But Cade pulled back as he told her, “This won’t do now, I want to lay you down and excite every nerve in your body, but we have work to do. It’s going to be tough seeing you all day and not ravaging that gorgeous body of yours, but I promise to be strong,” He chuckled and patted her rear end. “Now get to work sweet woman, before I change my mind.”

Becky laughed as she wiggled her hips before walking away from him. She wasn’t going to make it easy for him today. She wanted him to know she wanted his body as much as he wanted hers.

They worked for three hours and during those hours Becky caught Cade watching her and smiling to himself, which made her light-headed in anticipation of the evening ahead. She never thought she’d let anyone get close to her for a long, long time, but Cade had a way about him and he soon broke through the wall she built up around herself. She knew it wasn’t love she felt for him but it was damn close.

Cade switched the closed sign for an open sign when the time arrived and Becky knew they were about to be swamped with customers.

Becky rung up the third customer when she looked up as someone said, “Amy, I’m glad I found you.”

Becky tried to stay calm as she thanked her customer and then looked at the man who spoke those words.

“Excuse me, whose name did you say? My name is Becky. Can I help you choose some pastries?” Becky said as she moved towards the pastry case and closer to where Cade stood.

“I’m sorry, miss. I thought you were someone else. Excuse me,” Marshall Dean said just before he left the bakery.
